This joyful work is hand-drawn on a most intimate of mediums - a letter envelope. One of Peter Max's most popular subjects, this 'Abstract Vase of Flowers' piece features the artist's flowing, black line work accentuated with an exuberant watercolor palette and pencil work. 

The envelope art is block-stamped with 4 panels of environmental stamp art, in his cosmic-art style, that Max was commissioned to create for the 1997 United Nations Earth Summit. It's posted with an illustrative stamp for the first day of issue and embossed with Peter Max's artist seals, enhanced with color pencil burnishing. 

This one-of-a-kind, commemorative work bursts with Max's iconic, sumptuous color and composition captured on an intimate envelope with historic stamps and postmark.
